One of Chevelles’s most powerful factories ever is bidding

GAA Classic Cars' upcoming auction is scheduled to be held in Greensboro, North Carolina from July 22nd to 24th. It will contain 650 classic cars and collectible cars.

Including an investment-grade, matching number of 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS LS6 454-a symbol of the muscle car era.

The LS6 is known for its 450-horsepower 454cid bulk V8 factory bred by its racing car, which was only available for one year before emission control and soaring insurance rates prevented the big muscles.

The example provided at GAA's upcoming auction is "one of the best 1970 LS6 Chevelles," the shipper said in the muscle car list.

Before Thornton Auto Works carried out meticulous nut and bolt grill repairs to the rotisserie, this Chevelle was a rust-free survivor that only needed to be repainted once to keep it intact.

"Many of the original markings and overspray are still there, and Thornton's Restoration can be photographed and recorded during the extensive restoration process to replicate to factory specifications," the shipper said.

"Every part of the car is disassembled, refurbished or replaced when necessary," the shipper continued. "Attention to quality, attention to detail, fit, finish and correctness are the next level."

The car body is repainted with black and white stripes, with the correct SS marking. Contrasting with the appearance, the black bucket seats match the black door panels, carpet and dashboard.

The legendary 454cid engine is paired with an M22 manual transmission. The car has also received a stamp inspection by Jerry MacNeish of Camaro Performance.

"There are not many examples of real, number-matched records," the shipper said. "This LS6 with its original build table and MacNeish pad seal verification is all of this, and it is undoubtedly the number one blue chip investment-grade collector's car."
