Samsung has improved the software and One UI 3.1.1 on its latest Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 devices to make the experience more seamless. Especially on the new Z Fold 3, the software has more desktop-like functions, allowing users to easily use multiple applications at the same time.

Today, Samsung announced that it will start rolling out One UI 3.1.1 to Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G, Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Galaxy Z Flip, and the original Samsung Galaxy Fold will also receive an update in a week. 

One UI 3.1.1 provides many unique new features, allowing users to take advantage of more screen space and unique appearance.

The new feature of Samsung One UI 3.1.1 allows you to drag the link to the edge of the screen and open it in a new window to view other content on the screen at the same time.

The new Multi-Active Window allows you to use up to three applications on the screen at the same time. These applications can be arranged according to your custom layout, if you want more, you can also add a fourth pop-up window in the center.

The new feature allows the application to smoothly transition to an appropriate user experience to match the vertical or horizontal aspect ratio. 

The customizable aspect ratio gives you the freedom to view and use the application in the most comfortable way. Instagram cuts off content when used in full screen, but it works well at 16:9, even if there is a lot of wasted space on the side.

App Split View is available in messages, which allows you to view the message list on the left side of the screen and the selected conversation on the right side. This feature can now be enabled for applications that do not have built-in application split view support.

You can now enable Flex mode in the settings of applications that are not supported by default. New features will place buttons in the lower half of the screen, such as brightness, volume, screenshots, and quick panels.

The edge panel can now be fixed to the edge of the device, making it look and function similar to the taskbar that we are all familiar with. You can easily drag and drop apps, open custom split view apps, or open new apps. You can get everything you need with just one tap.

The cover screen and main screen can now be mirrored for a more seamless and intuitive experience. It allows you to have the same home screen settings and layout on the cover and the home screen.
