If you have been in these industries for a long time, you will know that screws are more than slotted (flat head) and Phillips style. Phillips and slotted bits are very standard fares. When you need a longer one for better coverage, look for the "extended" bit or simply search for the length (in inches) you are looking for.
Some of the most common special-purpose screwdriver bits have only a 1/4-inch hex shank at the end, which can be opened outward and then back out again. They are very suitable for multi-head screwdrivers and drill bits, but they are specifically designed to mount impact driver chucks.
Very common in the electrical industry, square drill bits are exactly what they sound like-4 flat edges of equal length make up the drill bit.
The hex bit or hex bit has 6 flat surfaces, and the screws or bolts that come with it are very common. You may already be familiar with these, thanks to the hexagonal wrench (also known as Allen wrench) that comes with IKEA furniture. The drill bits are exactly the same, they just fit in a screwdriver or drill bit. They also make your furniture assembly easier than using a hex wrench manually.
The Torx bit (or star bit) is a screwdriver bit with 6 points instead of a flat edge. These provide better grip safety than standard drill bits and are widely used in the industry.
Their size range is roughly the same as many hex head drill bits, and can even be installed in hex head screws. However, these points will not clamp the flat sides, and will slide as the torque increases.
The 6-lobe position is also called Torx Plus. The difference is that the Torx bit becomes a dot, while the 6-lobe or Torx Plus bit has a distinct square end instead of a dot. The two styles are not interchangeable. The safe version of Torx Plus has 5 lobes instead of the normal 6 lobes, which further complicates matters.
Both tripartite and double hex screwdriver bits take the Torx concept to another level. Both drill bits have 12 points instead of 6. Their points are also much shallower than Torx drill bits. Triangles are used for many German vehicle bolts that require higher torque levels. 12-point double hex special drill bits and bolts are most commonly used in certain Lexus and Toyota head bolts.
Pozidriv is a drill bit that looks very similar to a Phillips head at first glance. The obvious difference is that the smaller ribs move to every corner formed by the crossarm. The important thing is that although the two types look similar, they are not interchangeable.
Pozidrive is not suitable for Phillips screw heads at all. Although you can insert a cross drill bit into the Pozidriv screw head far enough to turn, it is unlikely to give you enough grip to tighten it completely.
The Torq-Set screwdriver bit is another type that looks very similar to a cross-shaped screwdriver bit. For this, it seems that someone has twisted it slightly.
Like Pozidriv, these are not compatible with Phillips. If you look at that position from the top, you can see that the opposite arms of the cross are slightly offset from each other.
The tri-wing bit is similar to the Torq-Set bit, but has 3 wings instead of 4. Considering the number of tips and videos on how to defeat them without the correct drill, the ability of this design to act as a safety drill is obvious. Believe it or not, the most common place we encounter is inside an Apple Macbook Pro laptop!

Torx is the most common tamper-proof bit we encounter, and hexadecimal is also very common.

A strange screw head is a 3-point "Y" screw. The "Y" is not completely cut into the head, but the tip of the "Y". These cutting points of "Y" are only 1/3 of the diameter of the screw head. I haven't seen it here but the ones that have been popular in cars for a while are inverted plum blossoms or e plum blossoms. Essentially it is a torx bit, but backwards.
