Vintage Players is one of the most unique theater companies in North Florida. The actors are all volunteers with different theater experience, they are all fifty years old or even older. Sometimes much older. Interestingly, performance experience is not a necessary condition for being a group member, and participants do not need to be on stage before they are ready. Every Friday morning at 10:00 in the Church of the Savior in Jacksonville provides weekly performance classes for members. The direction was provided by Gary Baker, the artistic director of the group. He is a graduate of Jacksonville University and is very active in our local theater industry.
Vintage Players perform throughout the city, presenting relaxing plays and monologues in places including (but not limited to) churches, senior centers and nursing homes. They don’t charge tickets, but accept voluntary donations, which help to buy lighting, costumes, makeup, and other theater necessities.

Dual Critics will have the opportunity to enjoy the show in a few weeks that the group presented to the whole house audience of members of a church social group in the Catholic Church of Christ the King in Arlington on Sunday afternoon. The show was hosted by Julie Francescato and lasted more than an hour. A total of seven works are presented: "Sad Stories", "Baby Boomers and Mule Eggs", "I Think I Have Heard That Line Before", "Letters from the Horse", "The Lost Key", "Unmarried" and " emergency meeting". Yes, comedy was and is the goal and theme of many of their works. The actors used various costumes, some of which were to provide visual humor. After the performance, the audience received a comment card because the group has been interested in improving the quality of the performance. Although we can’t check the card comments, we can prove that from the audience’s laughter, they enjoy every minute of the production.
Vintage Players is always looking for new players, and the troupe offers opportunities to meet new people in Jacksonville.
