After a good time, Audi is now off to a good start on its long journey to 100% electrification.

[This is an ongoing collaboration between Full Charged and Electrek]

The first is the 2018 e-tron, which is a serious luxury SUV that takes advantage of Audi and emphasizes not to feel too "other", while other new electric vehicles have played their futuristic qualities. Then the e-tron GT appeared. It is a stunningly beautiful sister of the Porsche Taycan and a halo car worth owning from the Audi electric brand.

Now is the third part of the electric Audi legend-most importantly, and happily, the cheapest: the new Q4 e-tron.

This is the most important data you need to know about the new Q4: By the end of next year, Audi expects it will become the second largest seller after the gasoline-powered A3. This is not a small batch, halfway effort. This is an electric car that Audi goes all out.

In order to promote the high production required to achieve this goal, Q4 will be built at the Volkswagen Group’s Zwickau plant, using the same modular EV architecture as ID.3, ID.4 and Skoda Enyaq.

This is good news for everyone involved. For Audi, this means relatively simple and cost-effective production, thanks to the Volkswagen Group's huge investment in transforming Zwickau into a carbon-neutral, pure electric plant. For customers, this means all the benefits of customized EV architecture we have seen in other MEB cars mentioned above-huge cabin space is the main content.

The Q4 e-tron is not only an excellent compact SUV, but also my personal favorite MEB platform.

It may just be better than its larger and more expensive equivalent e-tron. This proves how good an electric car is built with an appropriate architecture.
