CenterLine VeriFast IA system monitors weld pin position

CenterLine (Windsor) Ltd. has launched the VeriFast IA (integrated amplifier) nut detection system for monitoring weld pin position in projection welding. It can sense fastener presence and orientation at the point of weld, piloted and nonpiloted nuts, welding stud lengths, and infinite weld pin positions, as well as measure projection collapse.

Monitored by the PLC/HMI or MicroView, the system’s signal indicates the position of the fastener weld pin in various stages of travel. The values of this signal are then compared to programmed setpoint values (with tolerances) to indicate the presence and orientation of fasteners and parts. Results that do not match the setpoint values can be used to trigger either an interruption in the cycle or a warning message, indicating that the process has fallen outside of the tolerance window.
