The 20 kg weight of Doyes is a set of reasonably priced adjustable dumbbells, suitable for people who want to exercise at home

Decathlon’s Domyos threaded weight kit 20 kg is perfect for people who want to start lifting weights or do HIIT exercises at home. Compact, well-structured and easy to adjust with threaded screws, they are durable, provide good grip for all types of lifting, and give you peace of mind.

In this Domyos weight training 20 kg threaded weight kit review, we put these old-fashioned weights at their pace to understand how they perform under test conditions and whether it is worth investing in your home gym.

Adjustable dumbbells are as popular as sourdough starters during confinement, but although the baking trend has faded, the popularity of home exercise does not seem to diminish even as people slowly return to the office and gym.

However, adjustable dumbbells are expensive. You pay for advanced technology that can change weight quickly and easily, and threading dumbbells yourself is a thing of the past.

This is not to say that threaded dumbbells have disappeared: they are still very popular, as you can see in our guide to the best dumbbells. Their price is usually lower than that of similar products that can be adjusted. The Dojos 20 kg threaded weight kit is a good example. One of their biggest advantages is the price: they are affordable, and if you are not familiar with dumbbells, they are the perfect entry point for home exercise dumbbells.

Doyoshi is Decathlon's own brand. Doyosig kits are generally reliable, well-structured, and sturdy and durable-I say surprising because you usually have to think about the price of Doyosit kits, not because it is high, but because it is unexpectedly low. You can buy Doyesc products at Decathlon in the UK and Europe, and Wal-Mart in the US.

The Domyos weight training 20 kg threaded weight kit can be purchased in Decathlon stores and online, with a suggested retail price of £44.99.

The Domyos threaded weight kit is housed in a plastic carrying case, which secures all the parts inside the mould. Open it, there are 4 x 2kg weights, 8 x 1kg weights, plus two rods (2kg each) and 4 x rubber collars to fix the weights on the rods.

Everything is neatly packed, the bars and collars snap into place in the molded case, and the weights are neatly stacked together. The box can also be closed by clicking so that it will not open when you carry it through the handle. However, the box is of low quality and full of plastic feel, and it feels that it is relatively easy to break.

The setting of the counterweight itself is very simple, it is the standard "old-fashioned" way of loading the counterweight onto the rod-just slide the counterweight you want onto the 35 mm long rod, and then rotate the collar on the thread, Until it clings to the counterweight.

The design of these counterweights is refreshing. The counterweights are made of cast iron rather than coated with rubber, vinyl or plastic, which gives them a traditional look and feel. But put them on your smart new wooden floor and you will be cursed.

The way they fit into the box is also well thought out, and all the parts are nicely plugged together and clicked into place so that the box can be easily closed and hidden.

The rod itself is made of steel and has an ergonomic grip and a cross-shaped pattern of the grip itself to prevent the rod from sliding when your hands are sweating.

The build quality of this counterweight kit is very high. It may not be the most expensive on the market, but since they are cast iron counterweights, you can see and feel the quality.

The weight is smoothly inserted on the rod-I can easily slide various combinations of weights onto it, and the collar can rotate freely and quickly along the thread to tighten the weight in place. The rubber rim of the collar is designed to lock heavy objects and hold them in place, so in theory it shouldn't start to loosen-I found this won't work in 100% of cases, as you will read later.

Similarly, loosening the counterweight is a breeze, and it only takes a few seconds to untie the collar. In fact, I calculated how long it would take to add a 1 kg weight on each side of the barbell-a total of 37 seconds to untie the two collars, increase the weight and retighten the collars.

Admittedly, it's not as fast as the technologically advanced adjustable dumbbell set, but you are not paying for the technology-for these, you are old school and change the weight yourself. More time-consuming but more valuable (keep telling yourself).

For aerobic or HIIT workouts where you want to burn fat and use weight as part of your workout, the Threaded Weight Kit is ideal. It provides many options for you to choose the weight of your choice, up to 10 kg per dumbbell, and then use them as part of your exercise.

In terms of building muscles, the kit may limit those who like to lift heavier weights, as it can only lift a total of 20 kg.

Compared with more expensive adjustable dumbbells, the problem with these threaded weights is that there is no doubt that unscrewing and changing different weights will take up your exercise time and may interrupt your process. I also found that if I did not tighten it so tightly, the collar would occasionally lose its function on its own during exercise, which meant that the weight on the barbell would become unstable and I had to tighten the collar again. Not the main inconvenience, but the stimulus you won't find on a fixed dumbbell or an adjustable dumbbell.

As mentioned earlier, another problem with cast iron dumbbells is that they can damage hard floors—especially wooden, tile, or linoleum surfaces. If they slip out of your hand, or you drop them from a high place, you may damage the floor and possibly damage heavy objects.

The sturdy, sturdy weight kit is very suitable for aerobic exercise, HIIT or other fat-burning exercises at home. This is a high-quality kit with a good value for money. The manufacturing quality is impressive, and the design and unprotected iron counterweights feel old-school. Although adding or removing counterweights takes some extra time, the cost of saving cash is small. Buy a set before they are all sold out.

The dumbbell market is flooded with different models of various weights and types, and if you are not sure what suits your needs best, it can quickly become confusing.

If you have a larger budget and want more weight options, we recommend that you use Musclesquad 32.5 kg adjustable dumbbells. They are not the most expensive adjustable dumbbells, so if you want more options, heavier weights, and systems that allow rapid weight changes, the prices of these products are only a fraction of some other high-end models.

As far as dumbbells with lower technical content are concerned, TNP Accessories Vinyl Dumbbell Set 40kg offers more weight options than Domyos Threaded Weight Kit 20kg, and is vinyl-coated to protect the floor.

Another option to consider is York Fitness's 20kg cast iron spinning dumbbell set. It provides almost the same options as the Dongyueshi model, but you get some smaller weights in the collection. It is equipped with 4 x 0.5kg, 4 x 1.25kg and 4 x 2.5kg, so you have some extra options for changing the weight compared to the Doyes suit. However, the price is higher, so if Decathlon’s Doyueshi thread weight kit 20 kg is out of stock, you may only want to consider these.
