Mortal Kombat 11 Receives Huge Update - Full Patch Notes (November 2020) | Nintendo Life

A huge update has been released for Mortal Kombat 11 on Nintendo Switch, introducing gameplay adjustments, stability improvements, character tweaks, and more.

The patch arrives alongside the release of Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate, a "definitive" version of the game that also received a physical version in Europe. The update's full patch notes have now been shared to the official Mortal Kombat site, and we have a copy of them for you below:

Still playing plenty of Mortal Kombat 11? Let us know how you've been getting on with it in the comments below.

Ryan can list the first 151 Pokémon all in order off by heart – a feat he calls his ‘party trick’ despite being such an introvert that he’d never be found anywhere near a party. He’d much rather just have a night in with Mario Kart and a pizza, and we can’t say we blame him.

Now that's how you support a game!

As I need to say something else, when is the original Trilogy getting a release

Just having Shao Kahn say "Rambo Wins" Is More than enough for me! Time to also try the Kustom vartiations online.

The "physical" European version is a code in a box.

Jeez. That's a few more than I thought it would be😏

Why not say when the patch was released? (The 17th) It also allowed support for the new DLC characters and added the "Ultimate" subtitle to the menus and game icon, replacing "Aftermath".

But yeah, not saying when the patch was released just makes it sound like you guys don't really care about the articles you are writing. More lazy journalism from Ryan

But still weird hair on the girls I assume?

Great to see so much love from a 3rd party

How can this version ever be considered "Definitive"? Complete edition sure but no way it can be considered the definitive version I'm sorry, unless definitive is just being used for complete, then go on.

Woah that is some update. The intricacies of balance in particular are very important to them which is good to see. Especially for a game like Mortal Kombat

@Gerald Seriously I'm dying for a remaster of some kind of Mortal Kombat Trilogy. By far and wide my favorite

@Lapses Oh damn is that really what it is? I've been holding out on this game because I'm hoping for the REAL complete version with everything DLC with majority if not all in a physical release.

One game that will really benefit from the pro. I have it but haven’t played it in a while. The game just doesn’t look good on the switch. But it sold well enough and good on them for the continued support.

Woah, that's a huge update!

Had a question, and I hope someone could answer. I went to play MK 11 on my Switch, and couldn't find the game. Then I checked my SD card, and I the game was listed but not downloaded. I definitely never archived the game. Has anyone encountered this issue with their copy of Mortal Kombat. ( btw, I have the cartridge format if that makes any difference)

@Yanina wait ti see Rambo 's hair... Soooooo weird

@RustedHero : Even if there were to be a "complete" physical edition, the second they release a new update, (and I doubt that this will be the last of them) no matter how insignificant or inconsequential, you will be prompted to download the entirety of the 30GB+ (?) updates to date because updates require that you download EVERYTHING that isn't included in the base (version 1.0?) build, not just the difference between what is on the cartridge and the most recent update.

Our best bet might be a LRG release somewhere down the line (once the developers confirm that their work has completely ceased) as major multi-million/billionaire publishers couldn't possibly dare risk releasing 32GB cartridges into the wild.

I too would leap at a proper physical edition, but I wouldn't want to support the release in its current state. I'm really fed up with MAJOR publishers cutting corners when the hardware is more than capable of handling what they could throw at it. Add an extra $10 or $20 to the price of the physical edition if that is what is needed (hell, much of the time they do that just because they can, and not necessarily because the Switch edition costs more to produce). After all, the Switch has the unique distinction of having no installation requirements (with games being fully playable from the cartridge due to the higher read speeds of cartridges when compared to optical discs) so there's a unique value proposition there that is unmatched by the competition.

@RustedHero yeah, it's a let down. Like Silly_G says, though, even if it was all on the cartridge there's trouble with the updates. There's also a fairly heavy online requirement for this title so there'd be no chance of preventing updates to get around it. Sadly it's best to consider this a download only title. On the plus side, there have been some heavy discounts on various bundles with dlc in the past, so I would expect that to happen again in half a year or so with this latest dlc.

I've been thinking about jumping back into MK11. Mostly for Mileena.

Because the hair in the Switch version makes my eyes bleed.

@Gerald I spammed it on Ed Boon's twitter beginning of Nov: https://twitter.com/shampooze/status/1325185334976663552?s=19 Hope it gets picked up!

@RustedHero To be honest i can see this being supported until the next MK game what may or may not come to a Nintendo console, like most fighters nowadays i think NR are doing an entry what lasts years rather then releasing a new one every 2 or 3 years so MK11 is going to get more DLC later on.

If you have any interest in Online its best jumping in sooner rather then later because Kombat League skins are tied to each season what lasts a few weeks and once that season is done those skins are impossible to get after and those skins are some of the better ones, for instance last season you had Reptile themed skins so the likes of Noob and Scorpion looked like Reptile, those skins now though are gone with only those who played during that season having access to them. Next season starting later today has easily the best Sindel skin in the game, again if you miss this season that skin can't be got. They aren't giving away later and so far they have never been sold, you have a short time period to earn them and that's it.
